About Maxine Mallen
Maxine has been writing books since she was
a child… literally sticking pages together to create her latest masterpiece.
As an adult Maxine has made her
ambition to become an author a reality as
‘Banjo -the flying pig’ is her first children’s picture book and her
second manuscript’ Maggie- the wonder dog’ is soon to join Banjo on the bookshop
Maxine lives in Stafford with her family and is a full time author. Her early career was quite different,
having worked on market stalls, bars, clay pigeon shoots and as cabin crew, Maxine decided to train as a teacher.
She started teaching in 2000 in
schools and later on in prisons. Maxine developed her love of writing and penned 'Banjo- The flying Pig.' whilst working in the prison service. Maxine has enjoyed
inspiring children and adults alike with her passion for writing
and continues to provide workshops and learning opportunities for all.
Maxine strongly believes in encouraging the
reading poetry just for fun and as her books are written in rhyme and she is
scheduling visits to schools and libraries to put on workshops for children,
parents and teachers.
